Tom Spulak is a nationally recognized leader in assisting corporations achieve successful outcomes in Washington through judicial, regulatory and legislative channels. He chairs the Government Advocacy and Public Policy Practice Group of the international law firm, King & Spalding. Tom’s expertise extends to a wide array of issues that include defense, aerospace, tax, budget and appropriations. He is an expert in the field of political law and assists corporations comply with federal and state laws regarding political contributions, lobbying and ethical considerations involved in interacting with government officials.
Prior to entering private practice, Tom served as Democratic Staff Director and General Counsel of the House Committee on Rules, as well as General Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives. Before joining King & Spalding, he spent twelve years as a partner at Shaw Pittman LLP, also in Washington, D.C.
Tom attended the School of Politics and Public Affairs at the University of Miami where he graduated in 1977. He received his Juris Doctor in 1982 from Florida State University College of Law.
